X-RAY POWDER DIFFRACTION STUDY OF THE NEW COMPOUNDS SYNTHESIZED IN THE SYSTEM OF CaO-SiO_{2}-Al_{2}O_{3}-ZnO

In CaO-SiO_{2}-Al_{2}O_{3}-ZnO system three and four-component compounds were synthesized. Some X-ray and crystallochemical characteristics were determined:

Ca_{3}Al_{4}ZnO_{10}

  7. Single crystal fission point (${o}$C) 1455;
  8. Single crystal color: colorless.
Ca_{14}Al_{10}Zn_{6}O_{35}

  3. Space group F23;
  4. Index of refraction n=1.750;

Ca_{16}Si_{11}Al_{10}Zn_{3}O_{56}

Ca_{6}SiAl_{8}ZnO_{21}

  4. Single crystal color : white-greenish.
Zinc in synthesized compounds is stated to replace statistically aluminium ions in aluminium-oxygen tetrahedrons. The given type of heterovalence isomorphism which was unknown in technical products before and present in natural minerals in a very little range of concentration (0,01-0,1%) is the basis for the synthesis of the whole class of the new technical compounds.
