RECENT EXPERIENCES WITH THE NEW KM4CCD DIFFRACTOMETER

During 1995-1997 Kuma Diffraction Ltd. (Wroclaw, PL) and the Institut of crystallography at the University de Lausanne (CH) have developed a novel CCD for 4-circle diffractometers. The detector is implemented on a kappa geometry 4-circle diffractometer (KM4CCD system). This contribution presents results related to the machine calibration, experiences with different wavelengths (Cu, Mo, Ag), data collection strategies (exposure time and frame width) and the use of 4-circle goniometers with CCD detectors.
