NEW CRYSTAL STRUCTURES OF 2D AND 3D POLYMERIZED C60 FULLERITES

Fullerenes C60 under high pressure 310 GPa and temperatures ~1000 K are transformed into multiphase superhard structures [1-3].

In order to explain experiments [1-3] we have considered some new 2D and 3D structures, which we constructed using MM2 method of molecular mechanics. The following structures, defined on the base of geometric parameters of the inner oligomer C60 fragments containing from 4 to 32 sp3-like C atoms (2+2 or 4+4 cycloadditions of fullerenes) are presented:
