Photoconversions of I and II were studied in solutions with [1,2]

different polarity. The UF spectrum of I unlike that of II, shows a long-wavelength absorptions band, which is observed only in polar solutions. This band corresponds to the intermediate product of the photochemical conversion of I. Based on the results of quantum-chemical calculations, a scheme of probable photoconversion of I in polar solvents and the molecular structure of the intermediate were suggested. Based on data of X-ray analysis of I and II and results of calculations of model compounds, it was demonstrated that solid-state photoconversion, which is associated with the formation of oxaziridine heterocycle, can occur.
