OPTIMISATION OF CCD DETECTOR SYSTEMS FOR NON-ROUTINE APPLICATIONS IN BIOLOGICAL AND CHEMICAL CRYSTALLOGRAPHY

CCD detector systems, first introduced by Bruker AXS (as Siemens) in 1993, are now available in different sensitivities and sizes - 1K, 2K, Mosaic - coupled with different X-ray optics to be used on sealed tube generators, rotating anode generators, and synchrotron sources.
Advances in detector design, X-ray optics, X-ray sources and software algorithms will be presented, with examples of how different systems are optimised to handle challenging research problems, including:
